I have no more than 3 appointments per day. Unlike other piano tuners who may rush through 5 or more 45-minute-long tunings per day, I take my time and pay attention to the entire piano. My grandfather/mentor taught me that one of the differences between a good tuning and a great tuning is an additional 20 minutes. I schedule short breaks between my tunings – would you rather a hire a tuner who is fresh for each tuning, or one who is doing his or her 6th hurried tuning of the day?
